Privacy policy.
Plain English. No small print games.
This policy explains what personal information FrameQuake collects when you visit our website or get in touch, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We keep data collection to the minimum we need to answer enquiries and run our business.
Who we are. FrameQuake ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller responsible for your personal information.
Registered office: 2 Walsworth Road, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, SG4 9SP.

01 The information we collect
We collect only what you give us and a small amount of technical data needed to run the site:
- Information you send us — when you email us or start a project, we receive your name, email address, and anything you choose to include about your brief or business.
- Technical & usage data — your browser type, device, approximate location (from your IP address) and how you move through the site. This is collected via cookies and analytics, where enabled (see section 3).
We do not ask for sensitive personal data, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
02 How we use it, and our legal basis
Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:
- To respond to your enquiry and provide our services — on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering a contract, or performing a contract with you.
- To run, secure and improve our website — on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a functional, safe site.
- Analytics and non-essential cookies — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — where the law requires us to keep certain records.
03 Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies keep the site working and cannot be switched off. Where we use analytics or other non-essential cookies, we do so only with your consent, and you can change your mind at any time through your browser settings. You can also set your browser to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may then not work as intended.
04 Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as they need it — for example:
- Hosting and website infrastructure providers who store the site and its data.
- Email and communication providers we use to reply to you.
- Analytics and video providers (such as embedded video players) that may set their own cookies when you play a clip.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights.
05 International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your information is protected by an adequate level of safeguards, such as UK-approved contractual clauses.
06 How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and project correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch, then delete it. Where we have legal or accounting obligations, we keep the relevant records for as long as the law requires.
07 Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your information, or restrict how we use it.
- Object to us using your information, including for direct marketing.
- Ask us to transfer your information to you or another provider.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these, email simon@framequake.ai. We will respond within one month.
08 Keeping your information secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to deal with any breach promptly.
09 Other websites
Our site links to other websites and embeds video hosted elsewhere. This policy does not cover those third-party sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their own policies.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
11 How to contact us or complain
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, email simon@framequake.ai or write to us at our registered office above.
If you are not happy with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
